Who I Am
Prof. Khairul Anam is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Universitas Jember (UNEJ), Indonesia. Born in Buleleng, Bali, he leads the Intelligent System and Robotics Laboratory (ISR Lab) at CDAST-UNEJ, where his team develops cutting-edge solutions at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and biomedical engineering.
His research focuses on two main pillars: Healthcare Robotics (prosthetic hands, stroke rehabilitation robots, smart wheelchairs) and AI for Agriculture & Health (intelligent coffee dryers, lung cancer detection via X-ray deep learning).
He actively mentors undergraduate (S1), master's (S2), and also ready for doctoral (S3) students in Electrical Engineering, guiding them from fundamental research to real-world application and publication.
Academic Background
What We Work On
Our lab conducts research on intelligent systems and robotics applied to healthcare and agriculture, from fundamental studies to real-world deployment.
Smart prosthetic hand controlled via EMG/EEG signals and deep learning. Enabling amputees to regain natural hand movement through muscle force prediction.
Wearable robotic exoskeleton for post-stroke hand rehabilitation, combining game-based therapy with adaptive control for patient recovery.
AI-powered smart wheelchair with voice, EMG, and EEG control. LiDAR-based obstacle avoidance on Jetson Orin NX, designed for cerebral palsy patients.
Autonomous mobile robot that safely guides visually impaired users in indoor and outdoor environments using LiDAR-based navigation systems.
IoT-enabled intelligent drying system with Fuzzy-PID control, image recognition for coffee bean quality, and real-time monitoring dashboard.
Early lung cancer detection from chest X-rays using deep learning (U-Net, SegNet, VGG). Targeting clinical deployment at RS Paru Jember.
